About the Festival |

The City of Hartford invites the world to come and experience the Hartford International Jazz Festival every Columbus Day Weekend. On October 10,11 & 12 - 2008, you will have a wealth of possibilities to experience some of the most creative jazz musicians in the world. The many choices provided by our Main Stages await the sophisticated jazz aficionado as well as those new to the jazz genre.
Before or after the Main Stage events, you will be able to enjoy music by some of the areas best musicians at the many Encore Stages found in the restaurants and taverns located within easy walking distance of each other. The central business district will be alive with Jazz, Blues, Latin and World Music for three glorious days. There will be food and drink available to enjoy with the music in the many restaurants participating as Encore Stages. Whether you prefer Seafood, Asian, Caribbean, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican, American or great pub fare, all this and more can be found during the three-day festival.
While you are here, New England's many cultural and natural attractions will be readily accessible to you. During the month of October, the fall foliage reaches its full colorful splendor, the apples are ripe and crisp and ready for picking and the many vineyards in the area will be eager to let you sample some of their latest wine offerings. Museums, such as the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Mark Twain House and Harriet Beecher-Stowe House are a great diversion for those wanting to take a break from the many musical activities.
Come to Hartford, Connecticut on October 10, 11 & 12 - 2008 and enjoy an entire weekend of great jazz and great food at the 6th Annual Hartford International Jazz Festival.
